Steven Wilson The Overview Tour 2025 

The concert is classic Wilson; music compositions complex and the band drilled down to playing perfection.

Wilson's music is themed and as part of his songwriting process there's intent to feed a designed intellect into his genius of a music brain. This latest work has a cosmic vibe.

This show is deliberately more 'prog' in comparison to the songs that were attached To The Bone European Tour (2018). Therefore, if this fits with your wishlist for this latest tour 2025 and you're a die hard Steven Wilson fan you will be happy!

The first two songs performed are long (and most songs played are long) and they ideally serve as an introduction in terms of showcasing the The Overview album and for setting the tone for the evening.

Techinical problems with analogue equipment meant a change to the set list but the audience at Birmingham's Symphony Hall appeared unfazed, if indeed they noticed at all.

The joy and anticipation felt at the beginning waned for the reviewer as the show went on, frankly, the mind was rather frazzled, however the sound was loud (in a good way) and the stage rocked at times.
