Preview of Little but LIVE! Festival - Birmingham UK 2023

Look out 👀 Birmingham UK! because the community arts festival Little but LIVE! returns to Moseley Park, Friday 22 - Sunday 24 September, 2023. 

With the family-friendly, festival this year comes a Birmingham-inspired version of The Wizard of Oz the title is: The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. A performance of this show will take place each of the three days. 

Over the course of festival run there is a line-up of music and dance, including Red Zest, an indie pop band from the University of Birmingham, also Latin band Mambo Panthers:

Comedy includes an open mic night (Friday) 

Live art and food with ITZATNA Arts (Saturday)

Workshops include a Salsa Workshop (Saturday) and
a Wizard of Oz drama workshop for 8–18-year-olds.

Folk music by The Bonfire Radicals is the Sunday night headlining act, with an open Mic gig, hosted by folk duo Thorpe and Morrison, closing the festival. 

ABOUT Little but LIVE!
...created during the pandemic by Birmingham-based company Paperback Theatre Little but LIVE! was one of the few festivals to have taken place at that time. This year is the fourth festival in succession.


Paperback Theatre
The company's founders Lucy Bird and George Attwell Gerhard's ideas for the festival have always been sparky and engaging with wide appeal. The Wonderful Wizard of Oz is a Birmingham themed version of the well known classic and an example of the pair's unique and imaginative writing and direction. The show's creation has involved working in collaboration with a professional designer, composer Steve McCourt and with pupils from a Birmingham school.
Paperback Theatre are supported by Arts Council England for their continued work in delivering the arts to Birmingham’s local communities.
