Here is news of a National Association for Social Prescribing day, a Creative Wellbeing event by co-leaders the Belgrade Theatre, Coventry and The Coventry & Rugby GP Alliance: funded by Coventry Building Society (CBS).
The date for the diary is Thursday 14 March 2024, the organisations already mentioned and other agents (see listing below under REFERENCES after *[]*) are working in collaboration to deliver this, the list includes Coventry City Council's Central Library and a specialist, financial crime team. The theatre itself is the venue 11AM – 8.30PM
The sessions are designed to help and channel feelings of wellbeing for participants through creative activities that includes music, movement; games; arts & crafts; poetry and mindfulness. A dedicated quiet space will feature (in the form of a pop-up library), where sensory activities for all ages will take place and a therapy dog will be present. An opportunity also, to create a piece of public art that will be exhibited on the Belgrade’s Exhibition Wall.Various sessions are either drop-in or bookable via The Belgrade Theatre's website (link below) or at the box office.
On-site mental health related sessions available: these will be conversation led or guided and are open to people of all ages across Coventry, with inclusive sessions in café setting(s) within the venue details on the website.'Social Prescribers offer a friendly space to provide social support, housing support, artistic activities, financial support, lifelong learning, volunteering, and physical well-being.
