HORIZONTAL TUTORING Rate: Need for Horizontal Tutoring? No need

THE 'EXPECTED' GRADE: In almost all cases students aim high in order to achieve the best grade they can – even though a large majority do not manage  an A*it was the original hope and intention to achieve it. If a teacher of instructor concentrates on and is only occupied with the fact their students are working up to or meeting their expected grade, then this will simply lower the bar for most, or otherwise, pile on unnecessary pressure for others.  Rate: Need for Expected Grade? CORE SUBJECTS:
Maths, English, and the Sciences are the core subjects. It is absolutely necessary to achieve a C grade or higher in these core subjects for anyone intending to move on to sixth form or for those who wish to start an apprenticeship, and it is beneficial for students to have achieved good grades in core subjects who are hoping to land a decent job, or to enable them to get on to a desired course. Arguably, not necessary requirements for so called soft subjects at university: such as embroidery, anything that is Music related; the Fundamental Catholic Theology  course or anything religious related come to that; Chinese Mandarin and other language courses, or Golf Management, for example.Rate: Need for Core Subjects? Yes, but you would think there would be exceptions!
